Cameryn was born and raised on the Eastern Shore and began dancing at the age of five. After her first few classes at Dance Connection where she was introduced to the styles of ballet and tap, she moved to taking classes at Maryland Hall. While here, she was training strictly in ballet for a year and a half, and then moved to another local studio on the Eastern Shore called Triple Threat Theater. Her repertoire of styles was expanded there to include jazz, hip hop, musical theater, and the occasional voice lesson and acting class. After multiple performances with this studio, she began her training at Step 1 Dance 2 Academy where her passion for dance blossomed. Cameryn took her first contemporary class here and found a new love for the style, along with adding pointe classes and partnering classes to those she had previously trained in. After her first year here, she began to occasionally assist classes and not long after became a protégé. This helped her to understand the responsibility that came with instructing, and she was put into the role of being a Teacher Trainer. At the age of thirteen, she began auditioning for summer programs to attend and was accepted into Point Park University’s International Summer Dance Program, in Pittsburgh. Cameryn trained intensely there for six weeks over the course of two summers. Along with this she has trained at Broadway Dance Center in New York under many instructors, and recently attended their four-day Summer Intensive series. Cameryn is an active member of Parallel Performance Company and because of this she has been able to train under Michael Susten and Sarah Kay. She has performed at The Pulse On Tour Battle Royale’s and Arts In Motion Invitational, and has been a part of receiving two awards and one scholarship. Cameryn is eager to continue her training and hard work, and beyond excited to be an instructor at Step 1 Dance 2.
